California Bearing Ratio Test Apparatus(Laboratory):

The CBR method is used for finding relative bearing ratio and expansion characteristics of soil of bease sub-base and sub-grade for the design of roads, pavements and runways. It meets the requirement of IS:2720(Part XVI)-1965 and consists of :

1. Load frame, hand operated capacity 5000 kgs. One CBR mould 150mm x175mm high complete with base plate
2. And collar 150mm dia x50mm high. One penetration piston face dia 50mm.
3. Displacer Block 148mm dia x 47.7mm long, Surcharge weight 5kg and 2.5kg with central hole and also slotted.
4. Perforated brass plate, with locknut stem. Tripod
5. Cutting Collar.
6. Rammer 4.89kg and 450m fall. Rammer 2.6kg with 310mm fall.
7. Proving Ring capacity 1000kgs, 2500kgs, 3000kgs, 5000kgs.
8. One dial gauge with least count, 01mm x25mm travel.
